Nadiya is a Unique boat, with a unqiue crew, operating unique trips.

this section will give you an idea what we mean by that.

(If you are still wondering about more, see the FAQ)

  • Nadiya is a 2003 Robertson and Caine Leopard 47’ Catamaran. She is a four cabin layout with an ensuite shower / toilet combo. L47’s are considered “Classic Leopards”, and we couldn’t agree more with this title. Nadiya is hands down a Classic Beauty!

When shopping for catamarans, we had two major criteria : comfort for guests, and sailing performance. Any “newer” boats within our price range were built to be more like a floating condo, and less like an adventure craft. To us, the L47 is the perfect blend between comfort and privacy melded with excellent sailing characteristics.

His Hobbies include keeping Nadiya in tip top shape, capturing memories via photo and video, self sustainability, traveling slowly / intentionally and learning something new each day.

  • The culinary experience aboard Nadiya is based upon quality food and fresh or from scratch ingredients. We are very intentional about what we choose to fuel our bodies with, and we pass our high standards onto meals prepared for guests. You will find only minimally processed ingredients (pasta, flour, seasonings, cheese, butter etc) in Nadiya’s galley stores. Fresh bread, from scratch pizza crust, hand pressed tortillas and tortilla chips are all favored over imported or store bought options.

Nadiya’s charters are based on self sustaining practices. We hunt and fish for as much protein as possible. Eggs are sourced locally if available, as well as fresh produce and cheese. Meats that are not sourced from the sea are not featured in the included “standard meal package” aboard Nadiya.

However, if you would like us to pre-provision bacon, sausage, lunchmeat, hamburgers or chicken breast to throw on the grill we are more than happy to do so!

Vegans, meat lovers, gluten free, etc are all welcome aboard and accommodated for on Nadiya. We ask the you clearly communicate your food preferences before the trip so that we can prepare accordingly.

It is highly encouraged that you pack any comfort snacks such as beef jerky, candy, pringles, chocolate, etc. You will most likely not find your normal snack offerings in the islands and if you do they will be very expensive.

  • Working on a charter boat is a job the requires the crew to be “on” and working from the moment they wake up until their head hits the pillow at the end of the day. We are always on call for you and at any time day or night do not be afraid to ask us for anything. If it is something that is urgent and needs addressed before the next morning, do not hesitate to knock on our cabin door after we have retired for the evening.

Because we are always working, it is best to not expect us to be able to hang out and be to be your companions for the trip. This is by no means implies that you will not get to know us and spend plenty of quality time interacting with us. Instead, please remember that there is always something for us to clean, fix or prepare for your enjoyment and comfort. Instead of hanging out at the beach or explore a local village with you, we will most likely be running the water maker, scrubbing the boat, prepping meals and getting toys stored away or out for the next activity.

While we are happy to ferry you to and from shore for meals at a restaurant or time spent at the local bar, it is rare that we will join you as they will often need to rest once dinner is served and the sun goes down.

We will join you on all excursions where a guide is needed or anytime the you do not feel confident in your ability or safety to venture to a new location or attraction alone. Again, all you need to do is ask.

  • All linens, pillows, and towels that you will need are provided. It is recommended that you bring personal toiletries although basics such as toilet paper, shampoo conditioner and body wash are included. The boat is stocked with fair trade, coconut oil based shampoo and conditioner. The body wash dispensers contain either almond, citrus or lavender organic castile soap.

Although the weather rarely dips below seventy degrees in the evening, it is recommended that you bring some sort of light jacket in addition to a rain jacket for trips to shore. Pack a few swimsuits, comfy clothes for relaxing, and a few outfits for going to town. Jeans are a bad idea on the boat as they typically have buttons and rivets which leave scratches and tear cushions. Jeans with any sort of metal on the back side are not allowed in the dinghy and we ask that you refrain from packing them on this trip. Quick dry clothing is the best, as you never know when you might get caught in and afternoon rain shower or get a few splashes while riding in the dinghy. You will be surprised how light you can pack for this type of experience.

Shoes are not allowed to be worn on Nadiya or in the dinghy. This way dirt and sand are not unintentionally brought from land onto the clean white decks of Nadiya and potentially scuff her services. Clean house slippers or boat shoes that have non-marking soles are an exception to the no shoes on the boat rule, as long as they are not worn on land as well.

Shoes are also not allowed to be worn in the dinghy at any time. We suggest bringing a pair of flip flops to keep in the dinghy as we will be going to explore frequently. If you are a tennis shoe and sock type person feel free to pack them, just be prepared to not put them on until you are out of the dinghy and on land.

A small back pack or dry bag is a great idea for trips to land. Sunglasses are a must on the water, a hat is not a bad addition, as well as packing your own sunscreen (see additional comments for sunscreen).

  • The evening before and the morning of, your captain will lay out your possibilities. It is up to you to communicate your needs and desires for the day. Your crew is your guide to what daily activities are possible, and what the weather will allow. The can help point you in the right direction to all types of fun.

Keep in mind that without rushing, it is not possible to see all excursions and destinations within the six day travel window. It seems as though there is never enough time in the day. But you can always book another week! (wink wink)

Wanting to spend the morning in the water, lunch on the boat and an afternoon at the beach before dinner in town? Great, whatever you want!

How about hitting the local shops in the morning before sailing to a remote island for sunset with lunch along the way. No problem!

The crew is there to explain the possibilities, but it is up to you to choose your own adventure!

Not feeling like making decisions on your trip? That is ok too. Communication is key, just tell the crew to take you somewhere beautiful or to find something fun to do. That is what they are there for!

  • The Nadiya crew prefers to anchor out and use the 12.6” tender to travel to and from the boat to shore. If you would like to stay at a local marina for one or all of your nights aboard Nadiya the crew is more than happy to facilitate this for you. However, the guests will be responsible for paying all marina and or dockage fees.

If guests choose to venture into areas where mooring is required and anchoring is prohibited fees are often occurred. These additional costs are the responsibility of the guests.

  • If you choose to wear sunscreen, it is 100% necessary that it is reef safe, no exceptions. Reef safe sunscreen is not hard to find, even out of season.

Please avoid spray style sunscreen, as the overspray creates slipping hazards and stains the cushions and dinghy. If you must use spray sunscreen, it must be applied on the back deck and not in a position where overspray will reach the dinghy, and never inside the boat or cockpit.

Please, do not sit on cushions immediately after sunscreen application as may permanently stain them.

  • Deposits for your trip are non-refundable. However, you may change dates once with no fee three months or more out from your trip if there are other dates available. If you’d like to re-schedule your trip within three months but not more than one month out from your trip, you may do so for a $750 service fee. Trips cannot be rescheduled less than one month out.
